"Culture and flavours of Italy 200 years after Pellegrino Artusi's birth"

Showcasing Italy and the Italian taste in the world, the Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World is a yearly initiative developed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation to promote Italian culinary traditions as a distinctive trait of Italian identity and culture.

This edition is dedicated to Pellegrino Artusi, an Italian businessman and writer, best known as the author of the cookbook “La scienza in cucina e l'arte di mangiar bene” (Science in the Kitchen and the Art of Eating Well).

"The Mediterranean diet in Sudan: a sustainable food model". (Zoom Webinar and online streaming)

The Mediterranean Diet pattern is a case study for a sustainable and healthy nutrition. In the presence of H.E. the Minister of Health, Dr Osama Ahmed Abdelrahim, this webinar aims at spreading the benefits of this model to the Sudanese audience, covering as well the contribution of the Italian cooperation to food security in the country.

Italian movie "Bread and Tulips" online screening (Vimeo streaming)

"Pane e Tulipani" is a 2000 film directed by Silvio Soldini. In the movie, the star is Licia Maglietta as Rosalba, a middle-aged housewife who finds herself stranded during a family vacation. Instead of waiting for her controlling husband, who is in no hurry for her return, she decides to continue her vacation on her own, detouring to Venice and starting a new life.

“Food, the Recipe for Dialogue: the work of Pellegrino Artusi and The Sudanese Kitchen” (Zoom Webinar)

On the bicentenary of the birth of Pellegrino Artusi, author of the first book on the cooking heritage of many Italian regions, a representative of Casa Artusi Foundation will have a dialogue with the Sudanese cook Omer Tigani, creator of the website “The Sudanese Kitchen” on how to write a national cookbook and preserve local culinary traditions.
